Altered Art Journal swap-Closed to new participants

Here's what I've come up with:

1. Depending how many people we have sign up, I will divide into groups.
2. You can only participate in one group at this time. (Don't worry, we may need you later)
3. I will keep sign-ups available until this weekend, when I will assign groups and send out the Address lists.

When you sign up:
1. Please PM me your address. Even if you think I have it, please do it again so I can put you in my address book. If I don't have your address by this weekend, I will not add you to the list, because I need the addresses to make the lists.
2. Please tell me if you want to be in a group of 5 people, or are willing to do more. I'm thinking more than that and we'll have delays or lost books (and that would be really bad!!!) However, I know some people want stuff from everyone, and are willing to wait longer, so the option is there for you.

What you should prepare:
1. Please prepare a book (Handmade, bought, recycled, whatever) that you want altered. It is suggested if you are using a recycled hardcover, to glue pages together in sections (separate with wax paper or you'll have a totally glued shut book). You can leave this as is, or cover with gesso, or paint, or paper. It's up to you.

If you're a little controling (like me) and want to set a tone with a base color for your book, feel free. You can also leave it plain and get whatever comes from it...

2. Please prepare a short summary of your theme, and your 'rules'. Again, as much or as little detail as you want. I suggest no more than 3 sentences, and write this on a paper to send with your book.

Example 1: The theme of my book is: Animals from around the world. Please pick a continent, and make your pages about the animals from that continent only. Use appropriate, realistic colors and doo dads. Have fun!

Example 2: My theme is warm colors. Please use only warm colors (Yellow, orange, red) and variations of that. Subject matter can be anything.

Example 3: My theme is Shoes. Anything goes, have fun!

I will send you an address list to print out with due dates to send along with your book. We will have 2 weeks to finish each set of pages. Since most of us will be shipping media mail, we need to figure another week for shipping. Please let me know if you are falling behind BEFORE you fall behind. I actually have a solution for this, but hopefully don't have to get into it.

As for shipping, please use a padded envelope large enough to hold the book comfortably (give it a little leg room). The book will travel in this envelope the entire time!!!! Please don't tear open the envies, because you will be reusing it!!

Here it is again in a nutshell:
1. get a book, prep it
2. put it in a padded envelope (bubble wrap, not the ones from the post office)
3. include your theme and some instructions
4. include the address list with due dates.

When you get a book:
1. please open the envelope carefully, you will be reusing it!
2. look over the instructions, and ask any questions here, on this thread, because others may have the same questions.
3. Make your pages and attach to the book. YOu can make them directly in the book too, just make sure they are glued in and dry before you ship it off.
4. Cross off your name, and ship to the next person on the address list.
5. Some people are much faster than others, so books may begin to pile up at one person's house. Please let me know if this happens, BUT please do not sign up, and blow it off. It's going to be tricky coordinating.

DO NOT POST SPOILER FOTOS!!!! You can hint and torture the book owners, but please don't give anything away!!!!!!

No, I have not seen it. I think there was 1 or 2 teasers posted but I have no idea whats going on in that book.. I do know that I am going to LOVE and probably carry it around with me all thru NY so everyone can see how amazingly talented my friends are.
