Snow Layouts
Snow Layouts
Here are three recent snow layouts.
The first two are photos from a year ago. DH's first day of retirement-Jan. 12, 2010. Early morning walk down to the river after a light snow. 7:30 am 24degrees F. The third layout is for my Great Aunt Catherine's album. Judging from the look of the house in NJ these were taken in the late 40s-early 50s. I found the poem online. It is from a children's book called Snow Day written in 1947 by Alvin Tresselt. I really like it so I am including it here. I also thought it was appropriate as it came from the same era and Aunt C. was a teacher of 3rd and 4th grade. She probably enjoyed a snow day as much as the kids did.
Bright Snow, White Snow
"Softly, gently in the secret night,
Down from the North came the quiet white.
Drifting, sifting, silent flight,
Softly, gently in the secret night.
White snow, bright snow, smooth and deep.
Light snow, night snow, quiet as sleep.
Down, down, without a sound;
Down, down, to the frozen ground.
Covering roads and hiding fences,
Sifting in cracks, and filling up trenches.
Millions of snowflakes, tiny and light,
Softly, gently, in the secret night."

Re: Snow Layouts
Love the LOs, and love the poem. Is that Winter Wonderland Remix?
Re: Snow Layouts
Verrrry nice! I like them all but I have to agree with Christy--I like #2 the best. I like all that "stuff" behind the main photo, too cool!
Re: Snow Layouts
Very pretty layouts. Can't decide which I like best. I love them all.
Re: Snow Layouts
Very nice, I just love snow layouts!
The 'vintage' layout is my favorite.

The Vintage layout is the WW remix on Academy. The First Day layout is the original WW mostly. The middle layout has quite a bit of the Vogue kit from December. I like the page with all the stuff as well but it is difficult for me to do that.

Wonderful LOs, Marianne! Thanks for sharing the poem, too. I love adding things like that to my LOs occasionally. I'm always on the lookout for good ones.
Re: Snow Layouts
I cant believe that I missed this post! These layouts are gorgeous, and I just love how you laid it out over all of vertical stuff! Very impressive!

Love your photos Marianne, and your pages compliment them beautifully!
