September Lottery-Winner announced!
September Lottery-Winner announced!
I was the VERY LUCKY winner of the August Lottery, so I get to post the challenge for September.
The theme for our September Lottery is..................................TEA TIME.
On one of my numerous blog-hopping evenings, I found a tutorial for a paper mache tea cup. I made one, liked the way it turned out and decided that if I ever won one of these lotteries, tea time would be the theme so that I could send my little cup on to someone else.
The rules are easy, using any type of art media, create something that has anything whatsoever to do with tea. Post your creation here by September 30 and your name will be put into the drawing to win all the wonderful pieces of art that your PAO sisters have created for this challenge. (I may be out of town (without internet access) sometime between October 1 and October 7. I haven't finalized my plans yet, so I will keep you all posted as to when I will draw the winner).
Here is where I found the tutorial: http://annwood.net/blog/2011/02/
And here is my teacup: Of course I had to take the tutorial a bit further and thought it should sit on a saucer, and I also put a teabag in the cup. I emptied a real teabag, made it smaller, and put microbeads in it. Then I put a little bit of glossy accents in the bottom to look like real tea.
I hope to see a lot entries, but most of all, I hope you have fun with this.

I like the way it looks like it's wet in the bottom of the cup.
Fun challenge, Sue!

Re: September Lottery
I came up with these 2 cards for the September lottery challenge. I found the images online and made a collage sheet and printed it out. Still have enough images to do something else, but I am contemplating what to do. Also the size of the cards is 6 x 6 so I didn't have any of those size envelopes, but when I was in Arizona this spring and I had a play date with Paula, Rachelle, and Diana well Rachelle was making these odd size envelopes for a project she was working on. Of course I thought it was cool but wasn't paying attention to the details so she sent me the instructions that I will share with all of you too. Way cool for those cards that are odd shaped. The first one I made was a little crooked but the next was right on! Thanks Rachelle!! I also attached postage to these envelopes as it costs more to send these size cards.
Instruction for envelope:
Measure your card diagonally from corner to corner (like a tv screen). Add 1 inch to this measurement and cut a square of paper that measurement. Lay your card in the middle of the paper with a point of your square centered on each side; fold each side down over your card, creasing well (you can mark a little T for top on that one triangle for reference). Cut out the tiny triangle formed at each side by the folds you just made. Fold in 3 of the sides using your adhesive of choice.

Those are wonderful, Deb! And I'm glad you were able to figure out the envelopes. I'm pretty sure the credit goes to Michael Strong. I think there's even a video on it in the cinema at CS. He actually used old magazine pages for the envelopes and then wrote the address with a Sharpie.
