Very cool, Deb!! I broke down and finally bought a melting pot... between this and the beeswax tutorials I decided it was necessary (and a 50% off couponfor Michael's helped!).

I still haven't taken my melting pot out of the package. IF I could clear off my desk, I might consider it. Instead I used some rubons instead of a stamp and then used a die cut coated with glossy accents (sprinkled with glitter - I know). I'm collecting #6 plastic so that I have enough to cut quite a few shapes. Hey, if I'm going to clear off my desk, right?

Pam, by the time I get my desk cleaned off (and cleaned up!!) in January, I may have enough flower card backs to fill a flat rate box!! And of course I get more flowers with every Swirlydoos kit..... It's a sickness, I tell you! I deserve to go home where I can be sick... and create.... right???

Pam that tag is cute. I love that Santa. My work space is fairly clean right now. BTW - you need to come over and play after the holidays. I have a bunch of those card backs put aside.

I've shuffled that Santa rub-on around my craft stuff since last fall. It was high-time he was finally on something!
Yes, we do need to get together!

Tag #11.... the melting pot and shrink plastic were fun to play with, but I'm concerned that my clear UTEE turned yellowish in the pot. Anyone know why?? I thought it would remain clear. :anyone:

Didn't he say it sort of 'caramelizes' the longer it's heated?
I have no idea, really - you did a great job with the tag!

That turned out great, Monica!

Yes, in the video Tim said it may yellow as the UTEE gets heated for longer periods of time but that it wouldn't hurt it.

Mine stayed clear, but I did 4 pieces and then poured it on my non stick sheet to dry. Maybe that's why. I only had my cooker on for a very short time.

I'll have to go back and watch the video again... I missed him saying it might yellow! You all have better memories than I do. ;) Thanks for the comments. :happy94:

great tag! My UTEE yellows all the time. Doesn't really show up all that much in the finished product.

Well, I loved the melting pot technique, just wish I'd had a more whimsical Santa stamp for this tech.
