Back on my vintage slides this week. The theme is friends and I had to think a little on this one. Found this slide of my cousin and me at the beach and brought back a flood of memories of when we were little. I have lost touch with her over the years, but I remember vividly how she could draw the most beautiful pictures and how I envied her that ability more than anything else. I've since taught myself to draw fairly well, but oh how I wish it came naturally.

I'm glad you are back on track this week, Rachelle. I missed no slide layouts last week.

:hijack: I got my Epson V500 scanner last week and am learning how to use it. I'm scanning my first trip out of the US-England 1969. Lots of Photoshopping going on as well. At this point I have no plans to scrap them but yours may convince me to do it!

Here is my latest layout for the weekly chronicle. I scanned a ton of slides in today and came across this one that just made me smile and cry a little too. My cousin Melissa (she and I are second cousins and do not share this grandma) is carefully placing something into my grandma's hand and the sheer joy on my grandma's face is just exquisite. It's such fun and yet bittersweet to go through these slides knowing that I can't call her up and share the memories anymore

Loving your "slide" down memory lane. The photos are beautiful and your LOs are perfect for them. Wonderful wonderful memories. Someone once said that cousins are our first friends - I truly believe that.

I really thought this one was going to be tough with my old slides, until I started scanning today and got this one of me (age 4) standing in front of grandma's house with her 3 cats in the background. And believe me, she LOVED cats. Unfortunately, I became severely allergic to cats within a year or 2 of this picture and her cats had to stay outside from then on, but as far as I know she had at least one cat as a pet her entire life. Meet, Antoinette, Grey Kitty (the striped one) and Leroy (the grey one). And isn't that just the cutest hat you've ever seen?
