That's gorgeous. We used to have them growing wild on the neighbor's fence but they've all died off. I crack up when I see them for sale as they're considered to be a native wildflower in this region. Same thing with trumpet vines.

The only place that I have found selling it is at the USF Botanical Gardens. One nursery told me they are too difficult to keep in stock. Probably because they are a favorite for many larvae of butterflies. Mine has a few Gulf Fritilary caterpillars right now.

I may have to tramp through the woods and see if I can find a couple of them - didn't realize that they're a good butterfly/caterpillar plant.

I love those - they almost look alien to me.

It is the host plant for Gulf Fritilary and zebra longwings.
