Learn Something New Every Day
Learn Something New Every Day
Farley and I took this Shimelle class in September. I use that term lightly as neither one of us finished it. Too much going on at the time. Plus, I am just not mentally equipped to learn something new every day. HA
Now that things have calmed down a bit I am starting up with this self-paced class again - Jenni Style. I am going to Learn Something New Every Week. Plus, I am going to attempt my very first ever Art Journal. I'm using an altered book which was one of our goodies at Scramp Camp in September. It's shaped like a tea pot. Fun.
So here is the first two page layout I have done. Be kind. I've never done this before and really feel like I'm trying too hard to be artistic. Rather than really being a thoughtful book, I want to use it to try techniques and supplies that I ordinarily wouldn't try out on my scrapbook layouts. Thanks for looking.

Oh Jen, I am soooo sorry that this has happened to you too!!!!
You are hooked now!!
The pages turned out great, and I love yellow!! Are the pages printed words, or is that a layer you added? Keep going!! The more pages you do, the more relaxed you will become. Just try not to out think a design

Looks fantastic. Love the sunny yellow. Are you going to share a little knowledge with us about the techniques you're doing?
Re: Learn Something New Every Day
The best thing about art journals is that you make them what you want them to be. Six months from now, you might pull this journal out and add layers to some of the pages - or simply be amazed at how brilliant they are - or think "Wow. I'll never do that technique that way again!" They're great for trying new techniques, color combinations, new media, using a quote...

It's so nice to see yellow, my favorite color! Yes, please, share the techniques so we can all learn something new, too.

Another one bites the dust!
I love the yellow page. Keep going and have fun!

Re: Learn Something New Every Day
Still plugging along with my class. Not pressuring myself to learn something new every day but I am determined to make this art journal. For this one, I used Dylusions spray in Crushed Grape, my newest favoritest Prima stencil and Dreamweaver Matte Black paste to create an homage to my photography instructor. Thanks for looking.
P. S. I would love it if Farley would join me here in posting her LSNED journal pages as completed. Hint hint. And anyone else who may have or may in the future take the class.
