Birthday Card with my new Cricut!

Post by tlscrap »

Got my Cricut a couple weeks ago, and finally had time to make a card! I got the original Cricut, since it was such a good deal, and I think that's all I'll really need ;) Can't wait to load up on cartridges, and possible the Gypsy!

TFL!

BTW if anyone can tell me how to not make these come out so big, that would be great... sorry ....

Yay for a new Cricut! Love the card - nice job. I got Nicole's replacement for the junk refurb machine I originally got, but we haven't had time to do more than confirm that it works. I think the replacement was brand spankin' new, and it works great.

I suspect you might find a few things that you wish you had a larger machine for, but honestly, I think the gypsy will make the most difference. If you can get images rotated before cutting, you'll have most of the flexibility afforded by the big machine. Or, you might be able to use Cricut Craft Room. Supposedly that has even more design capability than the Gypsy, but it means that you have to tether your Cricut to your computer to make a cut. I've not tried it yet, but I intend to, once it's been out for a little while longer. They're beta was a disaster, and I want to give them more time to work out the kinks.

Thanks everyone!

Oh, Julie, I'm glad you got another one!

...and I actually purchased the Cricut Design Studio and hooked the Cricut up to my computer, and I LOVE IT!!!!! Love being able to place the images where my colored paper scraps are on my mat! Saves so much time!!!

I purchased CDS, and don't love it as much as the Gypsy. Though it is sometimes nice to have a larger area to design on. And, the nice long cable that it came with was probably more valuable to me than the software. But yeah, being able to use that mat to it's largest possible advantage makes a huge amount of difference - regardless of whether it's a G or CDS.
