So, over the last several weeks I've been deep into Girl Scout mode. The girls are bridging up to cadettes next year, and we don't even know how many will stick with the troop. But I think if we're going to keep it interesting, we're going to have to increase our funding, which means fundraisers. Our girls have had a blast making cards and jewelry in the past, so I started looking at different things they could make to sell, and of course I'm looking at kits and other ways to get things done in bulk.
That's when I stumbled onto the concept of One Sheet Wonders. I've never heard of the concept before, but it looks really cool. People create cutting templates for a single sheet of patterned paper, and then use that one piece of paper to make 8-10 cards with no waste. Of course, once you cut out the mats shown in the samples you're going to have all kinds of solid cardstock scraps, but still... the solid stuff is cheaper than the patterned stuff.
Unfortunately, the largest stash of stuff I can find about this technique is Pinterest. And I don't get along with Pinterest. Everything I found is either a photo of a template, but not how the pieces go on the finished cards, or the opposite - a picture of a dozen cards, without the cutting template. Ug. But I think I might dive in and try some this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll be in a mood do do any work with photos, but I'm feeling inspired to play with paper, so maybe this is my mojo-kickstart.
Has anyone worked with this concept before, and have any sites/blogs that they especially love? I'm at work, and I'm trying to hold back from not wasting the rest of my day trying to figure out some of this stuff on Pinterest.

Bonnie is more into cards these days instead of scrapping, so I'm going to print some of these off for her. The bare bones cards are sort of enh but when they're finished it's a whole new story. I may have to try a few myself.

We'll, it may be old, but it's brand new to me! I still haven't found my way into the craft room today. And tomorrow it looks like Rob's made us plans to be at an air show.
I'm hanging on to the desire to try this though.
