Fragment pendants

Post by rinda »

Cross posted these in the altered art gallery, but they really are Tim-inspired, so I thought I'd share them here as well.
Not sure if this belongs here or in the jewelery category, but thought I'd put 'em here until they get turned into jewelery (LOL!).
I've been really intrigued by the vintage hanger project Tim Holtz put up on his blog from his Winter Retreat. I don't have hangers, but I loved the idea of building dimenstional collage with fragments, instead of memory glass. So, using the techniques Tim taught me at the class I took at My Daughter's Wish last fall, I made these fragment pendants. I love how they turned out. The backgrounds are all from collage sheets I made with either my vacation photos or my heritage photos. Embellies from Tim Holtz Distressables line, Club Scrap and maybe some art chix.
Thanks for looking,
Rinda

Rinda these are wonderful! I just got some of Tim's fragments and hope to play with them after the start of the New Year.

What a cool idea, Rinda! Wouldn't pendants made with old pics of the kids/grandkids make fantastic Mother's Day gifts? Just thinking ahead. Hope you can share directions after the holidays.TFS!!

very nice. It's funny, I'm visiting in Indiana and went to Archivers (have to visit this place any time I come) and they had the fragments. I looked and looked for them before Christmas and finally did my own thing to mimic that embellishment.

I didn't buy them because honestly, I felt that they were something that I just wouldn't use a lot. I love seeing what you've done with them though.
