August 2016 Card Sketch Challenge - Graphic Words
August 2016 Card Sketch Challenge - Graphic Words
This month's card sketch is about graphic words and sentiments being the focal point of the card. Words or sentiments can be stamps, die cuts, embossing folders...you get the idea. Embellishing is encouraged.
I made these two cards rather quickly. They are simple with just a dash of embellishing. First card I used my KNK to cut the "hello" out then edged the word with a black Copic so it stood out from the same paper. The second card I used a large Thank You stamp painted with Distress Inks. There are so many ways to use a word image and I know you all can come up with some great ones.

Very nice, Farley. Did you stamp the Thank You lightly and then paint it?

Good eye Marianne. I inked the Thank You all at once with 2 Distress ink colors but it didn't stamp to my satisfaction so I then painted in the colors with a water brush the way you see. Of course I like this better than what I originally intended. The flowers I did not touch.

Re: August 2016 Card Sketch Challenge - Graphic Words
When I was looking for something with big letters, I got distracted by the old metal letters I've saved. There were only a few vowels left so I decided their time had come to be used in some way. So my large letters are the backgrounds of these cards.
I will try to do something else with the real intent of the challenge.

Thank you for the comments. Does anyone else have a bunch of metal letters gathering dust in their stashes?
Here is the other card with Christy's squares and 'big' letters for this challenge. Anyone recognize those sticker letters?

Great cards, Marianne. Raising my hand here - I think I've still got a stash of those metal letters.
