2017 September Card Sketch Fall Tri-fold Card W/Sample Now
2017 September Card Sketch Fall Tri-fold Card W/Sample Now
How the heck did we get to this side of 2017!? Fall is just weeks away and frankly I'm ready. This has been one of the hottest summers I can recall. This weekend is all 3 digit temps. But I shouldn't complain. I'll make some Fall cards instead and think cooling thoughts.
This is a pretty easy one. You know me, I'm always thinking of ways to USE UP (mine) all that paper whether it's scraps, 6 X 6 pads or bigger. Add some kind of Fall image - my favorite season - and you've got a "Happy Fall" card to send family and friends.
Here's the sketch with measurements and I'll post a sample shortly. I'm a little behind after making all those SSS cards.

That looks fun, Farley.... does it then fit in a regular ol' envelope?

Re: 2017 September Card Sketch - Fall Tri-fold Card
I have an assortment of "standard" envelopes, but I think the closest fit would be a normal letter size, which would really still be too big. So it would seem that this card is a job for my WRMK envelope punch board. Haven't used that tool in ages!

Yes, this is a perfect WRMK type card. I love my envie punch.nchoney wrote:That looks fun, Farley.... does it then fit in a regular ol' envelope?
The card folded will be 3.25 X 6.5 so just be sure your envelope is at least 3.5" high. Here's the USPS rules:

This is certainly cheating a bit. But I never got around to posting it because I was waiting until Lexi received it. And then forgot. I will make another one with a fall theme, but I wanted to share this trifold I made in May for my niece's graduation.

Re: 2017 September Card Sketch - Fall Tri-fold Card
I always like the 3D cards you post, Farley. I often make cards to fit the size envelopes I have and I do have a lot of narrow envelopes. With a bit of tweaking to the card size I could use them.
As long as you keep the basic shape, you could make the card any size.

That's a cool card for Lexi - so much "real estate" for putting all the cool graduation papers and embellishments!
And now she's already been at college for a whole week or so!

Very fun card! And that IS a fun part of these folded cards... lots of real estate to put goodies and cool paper on.

Wonderful cards Jen. I'm glad you posted them regardless of theme. Looks like you had some great sparkly paper to use.
Thanks Marianne. Definitely alter the size of this card to suit your envelopes, stamps or paper. I started a card last night, made a booboo and realized it was midnight and gave it up for today. I'll likely post one or two samples tonight. But Jen's cards are great ones to look at. They're a good representation of what I'm aiming for.

Thanks for the good visual. I'll be trying this out.
Re: 2017 September Card Sketch - Fall Tri-fold Card
Finally I have a sample! This was stuck in my head and I was determined to actually make it. The greenish background paper is from a dear old favorite CS kit - Natural Resources. Oh my how I loved that heavy gorgeous paper. The back side panels are from a 6 X 6 Bo Bunny pad "Take a Hike".
I die cut, stamped in Oxides and embossed all 15 leaves from an old Papertrey stamp/die set. Doubt I do that again but it gives the leaves a wet dewy look.
