Box cards!
Box cards!
Cara & Mia went to a craft fair at a church nearby. Mia posted this on her Instagram. SO many cards!

Wow, somebody's been busy! I hope she did well with them; just out of curiosity, do you know what they were charging for them?

That is so cool. Seeing them all in one place you can’t help but smile. I should fire up the KNK and make some.

I think Debi plans an embellishment/die cut challenge for our neglected supplies challenge. My plan is to use some to make a few of these to have on hand.

We need to go into business, nobody here pays that kind of money for cards, it’s a lost art. Everyone enjoys my home made cards but when the Dollar store sells them for 50 cents it’s hard to compete. I appreciate all the work that goes into making these but most people can’t justify that for a card.

I'm kind of with you on that Debbie! People here don't want to pay even $3 for a card. Those are very nice but take a lot of work.Debbie J wrote:We need to go into business, nobody here pays that kind of money for cards, it’s a lost art. Wow! I had no idea when I asked that the price would be so high. Like in the US people up here won't pay more than a few bucks for cards; they're a buck at the dollar store. I sincerely hope she sold enough to make it worth her while.
Re: Box cards!
They didn’t stay long enough to see if many sold. I hope so. I always feel like crafters have trouble finding prices that people will pay but not lose money. Time is money. Customers usually don’t appreciate the time involved.

Re: Box cards!
I think it’s a common error when trying to sell hand made crafts that took so much time, materials and dollars to determine what is a fair price. Those prices are over-the-top absurd. Maybe in the right “up-scale” market that price would fly but everywhere else not. Plus with so many Crickets, KNKs and Silhouettes out there making these pretty easily, this too does not justify that price.
If I charged what a card actually cost me I’d be a millionaire!
