Fun layouts and I love the photos - but Cook house? Who's related to "Cooks"?

I really like those, Julie, especially the one done on the grid!
Re: January 2012 Scrapbook Challenge
FINALLY got this finished. Those of you who hang at the CS Coffeehouse may recognize this layout sketch from the December Sketch Relay. I created that one digitally on Aurora Borealis but I was not at all happy with it. So in my quest of Using Your Stash this year, I recreated it on a Christmas pad from DCWV. This is the result. Sorry about the photo quality. Waited until too late in the day to photograph it and the colors were way off. The base pages are cream and the red is a nice bright red IRL. Thank you for looking. These are photos taken over the holiday season while I was in Auburn, Chico, Elk Grove, Folsom, Gold River, Reno and Sonoma. I tried to use the colors of white, cream and gold but missed slightly on the gold.

Julie . . . luv the 2nd LO you posted. For a long time I've refused to incorporate photos, cut in circles, into my LOs. It reminded me too much of my albums back in the eighties. But this is so well done. Luv it! Saved a copy for later use.
Jen . . . luv the incredible Christmas feel of your LO.
Good job ladies!

Way to go Jen!
I love that layout. Love the layouts that feature several photos - always will, I suppose.
I know what you mean about the lighting this time of year. It's so hard to get a good photo.

It's me, Pam. Cook is my maiden name. How did you not know this before now??? I figured there had already been tons of layouts referencing Cook things... maybe my journaling needs some work.pamcook wrote:Fun layouts and I love the photos - but Cook house? Who's related to "Cooks"?

Yoli - these are all digi quick pages. I don't really do circles much in my paper layouts any more either. I've seen sketches that use circles that look great with some kind of embellishment cluster, but given that I'm am cluster-challenged, I can only really pull it off in a digi quick page.Yoli wrote:Julie . . . luv the 2nd LO you posted. Thanks for the kind remarks everyone!

I've been playing with the digi again today. The holly sprays started out bright red and green. I made them more transparent and then put gold gems onto the berries. The ribbon was originally lace. I really liked what happened to it when I tried one of the 3D filter effects!!
