Another magazine is discontinued

Got an email from Stampington today that their magazine,
Take Ten, has been discontinued.
How long before all of the Paper Arts magazines will be off the market,
Emags are fine, but I prefer to be able to flip through the pages of a
printed magazine to get inspiration and see how others are using their
supplies

Well dang! I like Take Ten better than the other one they do. All the good mags anymore seem to be imported from across the pond.

So sad but I have to admit that I stop buying them a while ago. So, I'm part of the problem. :(

Looks like this one replaces the Catch Up Issue of Stampers Sampler, though....

Thanks for the link Debi.

In the old days of actually having a Borders Book Store near me I would hang out there while my son was rehearsing with a brass band, enjoy a latte and cruise through the Stampington mags deciding on which one I was taking home. Usually several. I can’t remember the name of my favorite that had loads of stamping art/cards but also contained 4 sheets of gorgeous cardstock weight prints that I used for journals and backgrounds.

Just added: I just looked at the samples (6 pages) in that new magazine and I hate to say this but it looks like nothing has changed. The style of cards, though very attractive, are to me samo-samo and their style hasn’t progressed in many years. Maybe they are just recycling from old issues?

Honestly, I'd rather they stopped Stamper's Sampler and continued Take Ten, as I found the samples in Take Ten to be superior most times and I really didn't care for the articles in Stamper's Sampler. 15-20 years ago Stamper's Sampler was a very thin glossy mag that was only cards and lists of what was in them. I still have a few issues hanging around for inspiration.

Me too! I've glanced at them when in line at Michael's but the cards aren't usually too exciting.

I think with the advent of the internet and all the blogs and pintrest the cost of those magazines made them obsolete.

When I first started stamping eons ago I found The Stampers Sampler and would read and re-read it many many times. I learned a lot about stamping from it.
