2016 Christmas Cards - April
Re: 2016 Christmas Cards - April
great cards
Re: 2016 Christmas Cards - April
I had some fun with these this week. Still using the same paper pads for these cards that I started with. I don't have the fuse tool, but I dug out my tiny little quilting iron and it worked, I just used a metal straight edge to guide it. Here are the 3 red ones I made; 3 blue ones to follow in the next post.

And here are the blue ones. I dug out little sequins, big sequins, mica flakes, micro beads and chunky glitter to use in the shakers. This was a great challenge, haven't made these in a very long time and it was super fun.

GORGEOUS Rachelle! Love the vintage look and that blue collection is stunning. Something about that icy blue that gets me every time.

Me, too. These are beautiful! Thanks for playing along, Rachelle. Wish I could find my little applique iron. It did work well when I tried it back in January.paddlegal wrote:GORGEOUS Rachelle! I had to look through a lot of drawers and finally found it tucked under some ribbon spools. I really didn't want to buy another tool.mpizzazz wrote:Me, too. These are beautiful! I found my little iron this morning. Right near my table in a box with my melting pot. Any idea how to clean it, Rachelle? It it is all black and grungy. I think I used it to smooth wax.azemigh wrote:I had to look through a lot of drawers and finally found it tucked under some ribbon spools. Update, my little iron is clean, heated it, wiped on babywipe and used an emery board to sand off the crude. I might actually use it for quilting now.

Lovely cards, Rachelle! I think I'm partial to the red ones.

Maybe rubbing alcohol, or nail polish remover? if it's waxy, maybe heat it up and try to rub off the wax on a towel.

I decided to do a few Christmas shaker tags. Dug deep in my stash for some old supplies: rub-ons, peel-offs (!), sequins, jewels. I fused transparent pockets together and added the cardstock backs as separate pieces, so they could be removed/replaced. I figure these could be hung as ornaments, also. The second photo is a close-up so you can see the individual pieces better.
