July 2016 Card Sketch - Color on Kraft
July 2016 Card Sketch - Color on Kraft
I love kraft card stock, paper bags, cardboard...all that natural stuff. I've been wanting to experiment with all sorts of coloring methods on Kraft stock or paper. Colored pencils, markers, Copics, chalks, water colors...you name it. I love to see how that paper will take color and sometimes alter it.
My two samples are a bit weird. I went a tad crazy with the sequins on the first one. But on that card my main interest was to use gel pens with not a lot of thought to the final outcome as is apparent. The second card is pretty basic. I merely colored white card stock cut into flowers and then slapped them onto a kraft base.
Time to pull out stamps and your kraft card stock and have some fun.

Great cards as always Farley - I especially like the diecut on the second one; those warm colours really look nice against the kraft.

I have some new gel pens which I haven't used enough - so just the thing Farley! I'll give them a whirl on kraft!

I did the gel pen card by first heat embossing the flowers with white embossing powder. The gel pens work great with that.

Today's kraft card offering: I used two different coloring methods. The owl is colored with Copics and as suspected the colors altered greatly on this very heavy kraft stock I used. It's more like chipboard really. The green of the owl is a really light turquoise! "You" was colored with a Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker and was truer to color though a bit darker. Washi tape border and heart are gold foil. Background kraft print from stash.

Love your cards Farley! That first is so very bright & cheerful. Maybe I can get around to this one.

I cleaned up my whole craft garage yesterday so I would be ready for fun this weekend, had a spare hour this afternoon so here's my first try at this Kraft challenge. I'm working with my new Swirly Bird stamp/die set from Stampin' Up. The "water" is one of the dies in the set & I cut it out of Kraft and color d with two blue inks.

So I kind of cheated as I didn't color but I did use some Kraft that has been unopened for quite some time. Hope I am forgiven
