Monica's CC103 tags
Monica's CC103 tags
Work has been a bear, leaving me with no brain to do anything at night, but I managed to play a bit this weekend. I jumped right into the alcohol inks day, because those have been a favorite of mine since they first debuted.
There are two tags for each technique because I decided to try each on both the white cardstock yupo and the translucent yupo, to see if I prefer one surface to the other for anything. And because I bought a pack of each anyway. Tech #1 the translucent yupo is on the left. In the others, it's on the right. So far my favorite is technique #4, but I still have 2 more from this day to do, so we'll see!

Gorgeous, Monica! Love them all, but your flower ROCKS! Can hardly wait for my yupo to arrive.
Re: Monica's CC103 tags
With all this talk of Yupo, I had to go google it. What is the advantage of it? Please inform me. Thanks.
Love the results you are getting from this class.

Very nice, Monica! Thanks for posting so the rest of us can see. Any opinions yet on which Yupo you like?
Re: Monica's CC103 tags
According to Tim Yupo is completely non-porous, even glossy cardstock is slightly porous and will absorb the alcohol inks. It's supposed to sit and move on the Yupo like it was plastic or metal. I'm thinking it will act more like it does on a transparency.ScrappinJen wrote:With all this talk of Yupo, I had to go google it. What is the advantage of it? Please inform me. Thanks.

Thanks, Rachelle! I'm doing a coffee stamp next.
Thanks, Pam. I'm having a blast doing them.
Jen, the advantage to Yupo is that it's a synthetic (plastic) paper. A completely non-porous surface ideal for the alcohol inks.
I'm still working on that, Marianne. There are definite advantages to both. I think it will vary by technique. For #3 I prefer the translucent look, but that could also be the colors I chose for each. For the flower I really like them both.

Re: Monica's CC103 tags
Wow Monica! Love #4 flowers as well as #2 tags. #3 on the right is really cool too. Heck, they're all terrific. Now I am going to have to get me some Yupo and thanks for the explanation. I was clueless also on what that was.

I think my fave is the blue with Technique 2. They're all very cool.
Re: Monica's CC103 tags
Thanks, all! I haven't gotten back to the CC103 tags, and may not until next month. We go on vacation the 22nd through 30th, which means work and trip organization until then!

Gorgeous tags Monica! I bought some Yupo paper but haven't used it yet. Now I'm thinking I might have to sign up for this class after all...
