June 2018 Card Challenge : One Die - Many Uses

Post by paddlegal »

I’m a bit late, sorry. Between making a baby album for a friend, kindergarten graduation, step daughter birthday and volunteer work leading bird tours I’m a bit stretched thin. But never fear I’ve come up with a challenge.

I’ve used this Catherine Pooler border die two different ways. Dig through your dies and come up with at least 2-3 ways to use the same die. Try for as different a look as you can. I will be posting more examples after this busy weekend. (Does this sound familiar? Yes, I did a similar challenge here about 3 years ago, LOL).

Can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

I love your cards, Farley. I just watched a new video from Jennifer McGuire on partial die cutting techniques and will be giving it a try. She makes it look so easy, but we'll see.

Love these cards!

Sue, Jennifer makes everything look easy, doesn’t she? I suppose if I used my stamping supplies as much as she does, I might not struggle as much!

Great cards! Jennifer AND Farley make it look so easy! I'm giving this a try after I finish my Summer card swap!

Maybe not as different as they could be. Two different techniques? One is embedded (the one with the white background) and the other is where the die is used to cut a window and then the design is glued on the inside. The cards are for Eid.

I added a bit of sparkle to one of the cards. Hope you can see it.

I should have been doing other things this morning, but I got started playing and just couldn't stop until these cards were done.

For my first card I layered four different die cuts on top of one another. Then, I took the large circle die and partially cut it for two corners on the second card.

Sue your cads are wonderful. I really like the layering of all those lacy dies...brilliant. And the quartered doily look is perfect for your second card. Like the patterned paper.

Pam - Love your cards and yes, it's the same used different ways. Sue, I like how you used the die sections on the top and bottom of the card - I have to try that.
