August 2020 challenge

Post by pamcook »

It’s so hot out I think my brain will melt.
I think we need choices this month. Your challenge is to use any or all of the following -
One of these sketches -

I like that mood board. Those fruit remind me of all the figs I'm picking!! I'll need to document that.

Yes! That’s a great idea.
I’m not sure what photos I’ll use but I love, love the colors - and all the fonts in it.

Will go through my camera roll for a search - or maybe use some vintage b & w?

I used one of the sketches, the mood board, and 3 photos.

I used the first sketch.
The Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association is holding a competition for a "Best Dressed" something-or-other. Here are a couple of friends decorating my garden bench. The style is "elegant" with a quilt, cushions, a fancy gin bottle and glass, etc. We had a lot of fun putting it all together.
Kathryn.

Oh, Kathryn! How fun! Did you "use" the contents of the fancy gin bottle before or after decorating your bench? :D

Pam, your page is beautiful, as always.

I'm glad to see creations for this Challenge...this is one I want to do, too. I need to get to it!

No gin left in the fancy bottle, Beki, so we had to have coffee, "socially distanced" of course!

Here's another "funky bench" layout, using the second sketch this time. They brought so much "stuff" that we could decorate the bench in two different ways. This one is definitely "Yorkshire" with the colours of the flag, a box of Yorkshire tea and a decorated hat.
We were asked to knit the little dolls for children in hospital. They are either dressed in "scrubs" or a nurse's uniform and are wearing masks, to familiarise the children with the strange-looking people around them. Lots of ladies have been knitting them.

How wonderful Kathryn! I love the idea of decorating the benches and what a brilliant idea to make the dolls for the children.
Your sun rays is such a fun way to interpret the rays on the sketch!

Decorating benches seems like something we need to do on this side of the pond...too fun!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the dolls for the children's hospital; I'm sure they loved them.

That must have been fun to decorate the bench and very good therapy to get the ladies together outdoors.
