Is there any possible use for wine/champagne corks?
Is there any possible use for wine/champagne corks?
I've got a ton of them and I keep saving them thinking there must be a creative use for these.
Any ideas?

I think they make stunning picture frames.

They also make excellent trivets for hot dishes. They don't make good coasters.

At a local wine/cheese shop, they sell a kit for making a hanging cork board out of bottle corks. I don't think it comes with the corks - it's just a frame to put them in. The design on the box has them laid out in pairs - 2 horizontal, then 2 vertical, and the end result is kind of a checkerboard pattern.
We don't have enough corks yet to do something like that, because we only started saving them, but that seemed like a cool idea when I saw it.

If you look in the CS galleria under Swaps, ATCs, several people sliced a cork or two into grape rounds. Pretty cool.

Here is what I did with the idea from one of the gals on the CS forum!

That's really cool. I'll have to ask the cafe round the corner from work if I can have their wine corks.

Thought of this thread as soon as I checked out Raspberry Road tonight. They have a free digital mini-kit called Vineyard on their website that has cork images in it. It coordinates beautifully with CS Sonoma digi kit, too.
Just what I needed - more digital files!

I made one of those cork bulletin boards 20+ years ago and it still hangs in our kitchen. We have given many bags of corks to other people to make them too. Regular corks I laid on their sides in pairs as Julie mentions. The Champagne corks stick out from the board here and there and they make good places to hang things from.
Recently I sent a big box off to a place in New Jersey that recycles them. It is called terracycle.com. They are also working on items to recycle the fake plastic corks but so far they don't want those.
