February 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
February 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
A little late (what's new?) but here is my sketch for the month of February. I made a card for the Onlinecardclasses.com class I am taking with Farley and Nancy. Liked it so I thought I would adapt it to our sketch for this month. My challenge is to use the chevron shape on your card. Hope you like it.

And here is my card. The Clean and Simple Class actually challenged us to use die cuts. This is an old quilt piece punch I just HAD to have. I'm sure I have owned it for seven years and only really started using it in the past few months. The heart was cut with my SU emblosslit. Papers are all from the February Simon Says Card kit called Style of Love. Edges outlined with Distress Marker. Thanks for looking.

Cute card Jen! But as sketches go, this one has me stumped. LOL. And I'm still stuck on January's card sketch! (which I still intend to do, by the way).
Thinking cap firmly engaged for this - other than something absolutely literal, I'm not sure what to do. Looking forward to everyone else's interpretations.

Yep, that's why it's called a "challenge", right?

Re: February 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
I need to remember to dig through the punch drawers tonight and see if I still have that chevron punch I bought many years ago! For some reason, paper quilting (using various punches) was all the rage 10+ years ago in the stamping club I was a member of, and I bought several different punches to do this with. This was about the same time that I suddenly had to go acquire several wallpaper sample books, which said punches were used with. I had totally forgotten that until I saw your card sample.... wonder if I have any of those old cards still hanging around as inspiration? Something to do tonight.....

Yes. When I bought that punch, paper quilt layouts were all the rage. I only bought one.

I can't believe it but I remembered an old Stampin' Up! punch that did 2 sizes of this. Not quite the same as the Challenge but pretty close.

PHOTO CORNERS would work, too! That is what it looks like, Cheryl. I just put some in the recycling.....

Fabulous, Monica. Glad you uncovered them and hadn't already RAK'd them somewhere else.
Cheryl, your card is an inspiration. Gee, I have a ton of Heidi Swap huge photo corners from years ago. I am going to dig them up and use them out of my stash. They are Pink (surprised?) so I can use them on Valentines, too. Great suggestion.
This should help all of you out there without a punch or die. I'm certain you all have photo corners somewhere in the depths of those stashes.
