The Deck of Art challenge is where you use old playing cards as a base for altered art. Once card is chosen per week, with a theme, and results are posted here.
We used to make that trip every two years. The trip I remember the most is sleeping in the car on the shoulder of the road. I have no idea what state we were in but there were coyotes howling in the back ground. Dad said he needed just a couple hours sleep, and the rest of the family stayed awake--afraid for our lives! I think I was about 8 or 9. What memories
Here is my card. It commemorates my first long car trip-to Florida in about 1959. What was memorable about it was I had to sit on a stool behind the passengers seat because a sick uncle was reclining on the back seat. In the front bench seat was my Mom, Greataunt and her cousin. The ride from NJ to Florida seemed endless but once we got there it was fun.

I am a directional dislexic...can't do left and right without thought...when we travel, I usually give DH hand signals so he doesn't turn the wrong way.
Here is a pix of my DH with his sompletely restored 1962 Ford Falcon. He had one in high school and was always fond of it so he restored this beauty. Her name is Deborah
