March 2019 Card Sketch Challenge: Patterned Paper Guy Cards
March 2019 Card Sketch Challenge: Patterned Paper Guy Cards
Sorry friends for being behind schedule. I thought the rain would keep me in this weekend creating but I’ve been out with Bob having fun instead.
I don’t have my samples ready but here’s the challenge: Use up your more masculine patterned papers, layer them up and create a pile of guy cards to keep handy. I have some in the works and hope to get them up by tomorrow.
Stand by...
Okay here we go...finally!
The bird card is all from one 12 X 12 double-sided paper also using the black barred strip from the edge of the sheet. Love those strips. The little birds are from a Hero Arts set. I pretty sure I’ve never used them before! Aren’t they adorable? Too lazy to pull out white embossing powder for “happy birthday”, I just wrote it on the die cut flag with a white Posca paint pen.
The second card I thought would be useful for a retirement card or vacation card for a guy. This is all from a G45 8 X 8 paper pad. No stamping involved here. Easy card.
So pull out your masculine paper stash and make a pile for future guy cards. Let’s see your ideas and play with me. I want to make more soon.

Seriously need to do this. Masculine cards are the most difficult.

Love that bird paper, Farley. I was looking at a fabric today on etsy that looked like that. I may need to go buy it then I could use it for the cards I don't make or quilts that I do make.

Great cards, Farley. The birdy one is fun and I really like the retirement sentiment.

This is Cliff. He's an Art Impressions "Golden Oldie" stamp. The patterned papers are from the LDRS Splendid Azure 6x6 pad.
Thanks for the challenge, Farley. I have very few masculine cards. I don't think I'll get a pile of them done, but I hope to do a few more.

Great challenge Farley; for some reason I never reach for patterned paper for cards. Sue, that old guy stamp is hilarious.

I didn’t forget this challenge! My two most recent scrapbook pages have me pulling my hair out so I’m ignoring them for a couple more days.
These are now ready to just add a sentiment when the time comes. I’ve always loved Rachelle’s cards done with a similar technique but could never get it to work. I did a wash (distress oxide) instead.
Thanks for this challenge Farley. I hope you don’t get frustrated with us. We used to have so many participate in challenges.![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Pam your cards turned out great! That is a great technique and a good reminder of it. Happy this challenge gave you a break from your LOs and you’re ready to go back and finish them.
And no worries...I am never frustrated with the participation here. I figure my challenges give me a chance to stretch my own ideas and should it inspire someone to give it a try too, terrific.
