Candy Tin for Alcohol Inks

Post by mpizzazz »

I've had a purple metal Cadbury chocolates or cookie tin for years. It had words and pictures around the sides. The quilt group kept tickets and money in it. I discovered that alcohol ink bottles fit in it very nicely so I altered it to be worthy. Well, I hope it is!
I did the copper top panel first then I spray painted the tin black but I am severely challenged with spray paint. So then I covered it with one of the misprinted CS papers that I really like more than the original Farmer's Market print. I put copper tape through the Cuttlebug for the trim on lid. Then I used black AI on all the copper. I also put some black cord around the edge of the copper panel. I'd like to get some round amber stones for the 5 circles in the center as I have a few teardrop shaped ones on the side panels.
Can't wait to get the AIs in their spacious new home.

Thanks very much!

I thought about posting it to the earth day challenge but this isn't something I would have thrown away or put in the recycling bin so I don't count it as recycling in the true sense.

Diana, the copper tape has a paper backing so it isn't sticky until you take that off. I just folded the copper tape back and forth in the folder. Let me know if that still doesn't explain it.
